Goa Khabar: Goa marked the arrival of the first charter flight from Moscow, Russia, for the 2026–27 tourism season with a colourful traditional welcome, setting the tone for the new international charter season in the state.
The arriving visitors were personally welcomed by Director of Tourism Kedar Naik, who greeted them with roses on their arrival in Goa. The reception showcased Goan culture and hospitality, with traditional Divli dancers performing for the visitors while a Goan brass band added a festive touch to the occasion.
The cultural welcome was organised to offer the Russian visitors a glimpse of Goa’s traditions right from the moment of their arrival. The combination of traditional performances, music and floral greetings created a celebratory atmosphere as the tourists began their stay in the state.
The arrival of the Moscow charter also signals the beginning of another important season for Goa’s international charter tourism. Russia has traditionally been an important source market for Goa, with charter flights bringing tourists to the state during the tourism season.
With the first Moscow charter now arriving for the 2026–27 season, Goa Tourism highlighted the state’s focus on welcoming international travellers through a combination of culture, celebration and Goan hospitality.
The Tourism Department is looking to the new season to further strengthen Goa’s position as an international destination, offering visitors not only its beaches and natural attractions but also its distinctive culture, traditions and local experiences.
