CM Dr. Pramod Sawant to Launch the Scheme on September 5 During Swayampurna Goa Live Interaction
Goa Khabar: Expanding support for households towards essential cooking fuel, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will launch the Goa Ujjwala Yojana, 2026 on September 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM onwards, during the Swayampurna Goa Live Interaction. The launch programme will be held at respective Village Panchayats and Municipalities across the State, bringing the new LPG financial assistance scheme closer to beneficiaries.
Widening the scope of LPG support, the scheme replaces the earlier Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance for Refilling of LPG Cylinder Scheme, 2023 and removes the earlier income and employment restrictions. It will provide eligible beneficiaries with financial assistance equivalent to the average cost of three domestic LPG refills in a financial year, with the assistance provided once a year through DBT and ECS mode. The scheme has an allocation of ₹100 crore.
Opening the benefit to a wider section of households, the scheme will cover existing female beneficiaries aged 18 years and above under the Griha Aadhaar Scheme and Dayanand Social Security Scheme (DSSS) by default, subject to verification of their LPG or PNG connection details. Other eligible persons above 18 years can apply under the open category, provided they are Goa residents with a valid Goa EPIC and have a domestic LPG connection in Goa, either in their own name or in the name of a family member. Eligible domestic PNG consumers will also be covered.
Making the scheme accessible at the grassroots, application forms for the Goa Ujjwala Yojana will be distributed at the respective Panchayat and Municipality offices after the launch programme on September 5. Existing Griha Aadhaar and DSSS beneficiaries will need to submit Aadhaar, bank passbook and LPG book or PNG consumer details, while open-category applicants will submit the prescribed application along with LPG/PNG details, Aadhaar, Aadhaar-linked e-KYC verified bank passbook copy and EPIC. The scheme will have no income ceiling, with one benefit per household in a financial year. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has urged all Goans to participate in the Swayampurna Goa Live Interaction from their respective Panchayats and Municipalities on September 5.
