GUJ to organise Solo Singing Competition on Aug 29

Goa Khabar:The Goa Union of Journalists (GUJ), in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity, will organise its 2nd GUJ Solo Singing Competition 2026 on August 29, 2026, at 9.45am at the GUJ Hall, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji.

The competition, themed “National Integration”, is aimed at providing GUJ members an opportunity to showcase their singing talent while celebrating the spirit of unity and national integration through music.

The competition is open to all Ordinary, Associate and Honorary members of the Goa Union of Journalists. There will be no participation fee.

The competition will be conducted in Hindi, Konkani, Marathi and English. Each participant will be allowed to perform/sing only one song. Participants will be required to sing either with live musical accompaniment or in karaoke mode.

The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs. 7,500, along with a memento and merit certificate. The second and third prize winners will receive Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000, respectively, besides mementos and merit certificates. Three consolation prizes of Rs. 2,000 each will also be awarded.

Interested members can submit their name, name of the song, language, GUJ membership number, publication, designation, phone number, email ID, address and editor’s name, along with copies of their latest Press/Media ID card and GUJ membership fee-paid receipt, wherever applicable.

The deadline for submission of entries is August 23, 2026. No late or spot entries will be accepted. Entries may be submitted by email to secretary.goauj@gmail.com.
