Goa Khabar: State Minister Babush Monserrate on Friday said that he has reopened his office in St Cruz, which had remained closed for a long time, with the sole objective of providing better access and assistance to the people of the constituency.

Speaking to the media, Monserrate said that as the only Cabinet Minister from Tiswadi, he felt it was his responsibility to reopen the office so that residents could directly approach him with their grievances and development-related issues.

Responding to questions regarding the BJP ticket for the St Cruz Assembly constituency, Monserrate said the decision rests entirely with the party leadership.

“As far as the St Cruz ticket is concerned, the party will decide. I am only doing what is in the best interest of the party,” he said.

Highlighting the BJP’s electoral performance, Monserrate pointed out that the party had never won the Taleigao Assembly seat before he joined the BJP.

“Earlier, the BJP had never won the Taleigao seat, but after we joined the BJP, the party won there. I am confident the BJP will also win the St Cruz seat this time,” he stated.

Rejecting speculation of political differences, Monserrate clarified that there is no clash with the sitting St Cruz MLA, adding that his focus remains on strengthening the party and serving the people of the constituency.
