AAP Leaders Urge Motorcycle Pilots and Vehicle Owners to Join National Townhall Against Forced E20 Rollout on 1 August

Goa Khabar : AAP Goa Working President Gerson Gomes, Vice President Roque Mascarenhas, Youth Wing Vice President Neash Coutinho and other party leaders interacted with motorcycle pilots and motorists in Margao to understand their frustration with the impact of the forced rollout of E20 petrol. Several motorcycle pilots and vehicle owners expressed frustration over reduced mileage, recurring engine-related issues and the rising cost of vehicle repairs after the introduction of E20 petrol.

AAP leaders appealed to the people of Goa to raise their voice against the forced rollout of E20 petrol by participating in the National Townhall announced by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on 1 August. They urged citizens to join the online townhall by sending a WhatsApp message to 8588833212, after which they will receive the participation link.

Motorcycle pilots in Margao complained of a significant reduction in mileage after the introduction of E20 petrol. Pilots, who already operate on very small profit margins, are now facing additional financial burdens due to higher fuel consumption and recurring vehicle repairs. Several pilots reported problems relating to engines, fuel tanks and float pins, affecting their daily livelihood and earnings.

Many vehicle owners informed AAP leaders that they are repeatedly spending on repairs, with mechanics attributing many of these issues to the use of E20 petrol. He said that a majority of existing vehicles are not fully compatible with E20 fuel, resulting in frequent engine-related problems and costly maintenance.

Many motorists demanded that the Government provide consumers with a genuine choice between pure petrol and E20 petrol . Since E20 petrol delivers lower mileage and has lower calorific value, it should be sold at a significantly lower price than regular petrol.

AAP leaders reiterated their demand that the Government immediately stop the forced rollout of E20 petrol, ensure that every petrol pump offers both pure petrol and E20 petrol, and reduce the price of E20 fuel to reflect its lower fuel efficiency. They once again appealed to every Goan to participate in the National Townhall on 1 August by sending a WhatsApp message to 8588833212 and joining the nationwide movement against the forced implementation of E20 petrol.
