Goa Khabar : Agassaim Panchayat Member Julius Almeida has strongly condemned the abusive and derogatory language allegedly used against St. Andre MLA Viresh Borkar by former RGP Treasurer Ajay Kholkar on social media.
Expressing concern over the tone of political discourse, Almeida said that while differences of opinion are a part of democracy, personal attacks and offensive language have no place in public life. He stated that political debates should be based on facts, policies, and constructive criticism rather than abuse.
Almeida appealed to political leaders, party workers, and citizens to uphold dignity and mutual respect while expressing their views, especially on social media platforms. He stressed that maintaining political decorum is essential for preserving healthy democratic values and setting a positive example for society.
He further urged everyone to engage in responsible and respectful public discourse, stating that the use of abusive language only weakens the quality of political discussion and diverts attention from issues affecting the people.
