Roundglass Hockey Academy’s Arshdeep Singh Selected for Sub-Junior National Camp ahead of Hockey5s Asian Championship

Goa Khabar: Continuing his rapid ascent in the national setup, Roundglass Hockey Academy (RGHA) athlete Arshdeep Singh has been named to the 15-member sub-junior men’s national camp in preparation for the inaugural Men’s Youth Hockey5s Asian Championship 2026. The continental tournament is scheduled to take place in Muscat, Oman, from July 20 to 25.

The two-week preparatory camp is currently underway from July 7 to 18 at Panjab University, Sector 14, in Chandigarh. Here, Arshdeep and the country’s most promising young talents will train under the expert guidance of coach and former India captain Sardar Singh to master the tactical, technical, and fast-paced demands of the Hockey5s format.

Arshdeep’s call-up comes on the heels of a spectacular international triumph. He was a vital part of the Indian squad that recently clinched the gold medal at the U18 Men’s Asia Cup 2026, where they decisively defeated hosts Japan 4-1 in the grand finale. His seamless transition from the traditional 11-a-side format to the dynamic Hockey5s squad is a strong testament to his versatility and the world-class, wholistic coaching environment at Roundglass Hockey Academy.

The camp, which saw a recent motivational visit from Panjab University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Renu Vig, aligns with Hockey India’s vision to strengthen the grassroots program and harness young talent before they move up to the junior and senior ranks.
