Congress JanKranti receive massive crowd

Goa Khabar : Addressing a massive crowd at the “JanKranti” program in Mapusa, Congress leaders on Thursday promised the people of Goa that they would cancel Section 39-A on the very first day of forming the Government. They also pledged to resolve pressing issues by generating employment and allocating the maximum budget to the Health Sector.

AICC Goa In-Charge and State General Secretary Manikrao Thakre, AICC Co-In-Charge Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar, GPCC President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, Working Presidents MLA Altone D’Costa, MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira and M.K. Shaikh, former MP Francisco Sardinha, Amarnath Panajikar, Tulio De Souza , Sunil Kawthankar, Pramod Salgaonkar, Vithoba Desai, Subhash Phaldesai North Goa District Congress Committee President Shashank Narvekar, South Goa District Congress Committee President Aziz Noronha, Mhadei District Congress Committee President Mangaldas Naik, Kushavati District Congress Committee President Rajesh Verekar, and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Manikrao Thakre said that the BJP’s focus is on winning elections rather than resolving pressing issues.

“BJP is continuously trying to hoodwink people. They are more focused on dividing people over religion. People know this, and they also know that BJP had no contribution to the freedom struggle. I am confident that the people of Goa, and of the country, will show BJP the door,” he said.

Former Maharashtra Home Minister Manikrao Thakre added that every attempt would be made by the Congress Party to save Goa from destruction.

Girish Chodankar said that the BJP Government is trying to erase the identity of Goa. “BJP’s Jodi No. 1 leaders are selling land to Delhikars. Everywhere in Goa, protests are taking place against BJP’s land mafia and destruction,” Chodankar said.

He emphasized that Goa’s carrying capacity would be decided by Goans, not by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, or any other BJP leader.

“No sooner do we form the Government, we will repeal all acts and sections that are destroying Goa,” Chodankar said.

He lamented that outsiders have taken over traditional businesses of Goa, depriving locals. “We will ensure that these businesses are given back to our youth,” he said.
He further added that the Government has failed in law and order. “The Chief Minister failed to protect his own convoy,” he pointed out.

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao said that BJP is looting Goa and also looting India.

“They use this loot to destroy the opposition. Even if they are in majority, they use money, muscle, state power, and ED to buy opposition MLAs and MPs. They do this throughout the country. They did it in Goa. They did it with AAP and TMC,” Alemao said.

He announced that the ‘Goem Rakhon Yatra’ will start on 22nd September. “We will convince the people of Goa how BJP has pushed youth into unemployment and ruined Goa by selling land, jobs, and killing democracy,” he said.

He also promised that a Congress government would provide an 80 per cent quota in the private sector for the sons and daughters of the soil.

Anjali Nimbalkar appealed to the people of Goa to vote Congress to power. “Today inflation is skyrocketing. We promise that we will bring change with good financial policies,” she said.
