Goa Khabar : Chairman of the Media & Communication Department of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee, Amarnath Panjikar, strongly condemned the continuous rise in prices of essential commodities and fuel under the BJP Government, stating that the common people of Goa and the country are being crushed under unbearable inflation while the ruling leaders remain disconnected from ground realities.
Amarnath Panjikar said that the latest hikes in petrol, diesel, milk, bread and other daily essentials have pushed ordinary families into financial distress. He stated that every visit to the petrol pump, grocery store or market has become a painful reminder of the failure of the BJP Government to control inflation and protect household incomes.
Amarnath Panjikar said that while BJP leaders speak about “development” and “Viksit Bharat,” the reality faced by citizens is skyrocketing expenses, shrinking savings and growing economic insecurity. He pointed out that rising fuel prices automatically increase transportation costs, food prices, school expenses, medical bills and every aspect of daily life, directly hurting the middle class, youth, workers, farmers and senior citizens.
Amarnath Panjikar stated that the BJP Government has mastered the art of burdening citizens with taxes and price hikes while continuing to spend lavishly on publicity, events and political propaganda. He said the Government lectures people about sacrifice and austerity, but refuses to reduce taxes on fuel and essential commodities that are bleeding the public financially.
Amarnath Panjikar questioned how an ordinary family is expected to survive when salaries remain stagnant but prices keep rising every month. He said that the Government cannot escape responsibility by blaming global situations while continuing to impose heavy taxes on petroleum products and allowing unchecked inflation to destroy household budgets.
Amarnath Panjikar further said that the BJP’s “double engine government” slogan has now become a “double burden government” for the people, where citizens are paying more for fuel, food, milk, cooking essentials and transportation while unemployment and economic uncertainty continue to rise.
Amarnath Panjikar demanded immediate reduction in fuel taxes and concrete measures to control inflation and provide relief to common citizens. He warned that people are losing patience as the gap between government propaganda and public suffering becomes wider with every passing day.
