Goa Khabar : In a strategic move to cement its status as a premier, all-season destination, Goa Tourism has announced its partnership as the Official Tourism Partner for the Caravela Sunset Pickleball Fiesta, taking place on April 18–19, 2026.
Hosted at the iconic Caravela Beach Resort, the event will also see the inauguration of four professional-grade, beachfront pickleball courts—a significant upgrade to the state’s burgeoning sports infrastructure.
A Fusion of Sport and Lifestyle
The two-day event is designed to go beyond traditional sports, offering a blend of competitive play and Goa’s renowned “sundowner” culture. With over 200 participants expected, including corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and athletes from across the country, the fiesta serves as a networking and lifestyle experience.
Strategic Vision: Goa as a Year-Round Hub
Goa Tourism is proactively tapping into the global surge in pickleball’s popularity to attract high-value, experience-driven travelers. This partnership is part of the state’s broader mandate to diversify its tourism portfolio beyond the beach season.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Infrastructure Growth: The addition of professional-grade courts positions Goa to host future national and international pickleball tournaments.
- Diverse Tourism Segments: The state is aggressively building a multi-dimensional ecosystem that integrates sports tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and destination weddings.
- Economic Impact: By shifting toward niche, event-led travel, the state aims to drive consistent footfall and enhance engagement throughout the calendar year.
