Goa Khabar:Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led government while addressing a public meeting in Chimbel, stating that the Pramod Sawant government has pushed the entire state into a deep pit of corruption and neglect.
Referring to the poor condition of roads, Kejriwal said,
“While travelling from Mapusa to Porvorim, I saw potholes everywhere. Someone jokingly said this is where the Chief Minister’s office is. If a Chief Minister cannot fix the roads outside his own office, how will he fix the roads outside your homes? Such a CM should resign.”
He added that AAP has delivered quality roads and public services in Punjab and wants to bring the same development model to Goa.
“AAP is not just a political party; it is a people’s movement. Our two MLAs in Goa, Capt. Venzy Viegas and Engr. Cruz Silva, have served honestly and even started healthcare initiatives using their own resources. Our aim is public service, not power. Vote for Jhadu,” Kejriwal appealed.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, AAP Goa In-charge Atishi said that the people of Chimbel have repeatedly been let down.
“The voters of Chimbel trusted the Congress, but they were betrayed every single time. BJP did nothing here, and Congress only made promises,” she said.
AAP Goa State President Adv. Amit Palekar criticised BJP for ignoring Chimbel except during elections. In a sarcastic remark, he compared BJP to a witch saying, “Oh, it calls you, but don’t go.”
He added, “BJP only comes here to ask for votes and threaten people with demolitions of our house. They haven’t done a single development work for you. BJP did not open a single clinic in Chimbel, but AAP started free clinics and health camps, saving families thousands of rupees every month. Other parties will offer you ₹1500 for your vote — don’t fall into that trap.”
AAP reiterated that its politics is based on service, honesty and standing with people even without being in power, and appealed to the people of Chimbel to support AAP for real change in Goa.
