Goa Khabar:In a major boost to AAP’s ZP campaign in Navelim, Dy. Sarpanch of Telaulim and former Congress women leader Defa Fernandes officially joined the Aam Aadmi Party today. The joining took place in the presence of AAP MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas, MLA Engr. Cruz Silva, and AAP’s Navelim ZP candidate Beatris D’Souza.
Defa Fernandes, while addressing media, said:
“Congress is compromised from within. They are openly helping the BJP. Their leaders ask lakhs of rupees for ZP tickets. I cannot associate with this corrupt culture. Today, only AAP is fighting BJP on the ground. I will fully support Beatris D’Souza and AAP in Navelim.”
MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas said:
“Whether it is Rivona, Cuncolim or North Goa, Congress is clearly helping the BJP win. Their candidate selections expose their internal compromises. Unlike Congress MLAs, we never betrayed the people of Goa — we remain firmly with AAP, fighting for Goans.”
MLA Engr. Cruz Silva said:
“Even Congress workers and leaders are now exposing their own MLAs and AICC incharges. Just today, a Congress leader slammed his own party for compromising with the BJP. People are fed up with this hypocrisy — that’s why leaders like Defa are joining AAP.”
AAP Navelim ZP candidate Beatris D’Souza said:
“Our campaign in Navelim is in full swing. We are visiting every home, sharing AAP’s work on ground. People have benefited from our free clinics and health camps, and they are responding positively. With Defa joining AAP and extending her support to me, our fight in Navelim becomes even stronger.”
