Goa Khabar: During his visit to the state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the Sardha Panchashatamanotsava and release a ₹550 commemorative coin to mark the 550th year of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, regarded as the first Gaud Saraswat Brahmin Vaishnava Math.

According to well-known numismatist Sudhir Lunawat, the coin has been minted by the Hyderabad Mint and weighs 35 grams, comprising 50% silver, 40% copper, and 5% each of zinc and nickel.

The front side of the coin features the emblem of the 550th Year Celebration of the Math. The emblem includes a rising sun, 24 Namas, the elevation of Partagali Math with the Dharma Danda, “550 Years” above it, Flying Hanuman Ji, a Chakra on the left and a Shankha on the right.

The upper periphery carries the inscription “सार्ध पञ्चशतमनोत्सवः” in Devanagari, while “SARDHA PANCHASHATAMANOTSAV” is written on the lower periphery. The years 1475 and 2025 appear on the left and right sides respectively.

The back side carries the Ashoka Pillar (Lion Capital) with the denomination ₹550 below it. The words “भारत” and “INDIA” are inscribed on either side.

The coin will not be issued for circulation. After its unveiling by the Prime Minister, the Hyderabad Mint will open online booking for collectors. The price is expected to be around ₹5,500.

Lunawat noted that a similar ₹550 commemorative coin had been issued earlier in 2019 to mark the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
