Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party today launched a sharp attack on the Congress–Goa Forward alliance, calling it “unreliable, opportunistic and incapable of defeating the BJP”. Speaking at a press conference, AAP Working President and National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said that these parties have repeatedly shown they lack seriousness, strategy, and sincerity in opposing the BJP.
Valmiki Naik said: “Congress and Goa Forward are not serious about fighting BJP. The Bihar elections are the best example—Congress contested 60 seats despite having no presence there and failed on almost 90% of them. On many seats they even put candidates against alliance partners. They dragged seat-sharing talks till the end of elections, and they will repeat the same in Goa. This gives the BJP an easy cakewalk victory.”
Naik also exposed the hypocrisy and inconsistency in Goa Forward’s actions: “Goa Forward yesterday suspended Amit Sawant claiming it was due to a land scam. This coming from a party and a leader responsible for bringing Section 16B into the TCP Act is laughable. Just a day earlier, the same party inducted the right-hand man of the biggest land-scam accused in Cumbarjua. Congress also inducted Amit Sawant in the presence of senior leaders and by evening claimed they had not taken him back. What kind of politics is this?”
He added: “Why will people of Goa trust these two parties when they themselves are involved in poaching, trading of leaders and political drama? Their actions show they are not serious about fighting BJP but more interested in securing their own benefits.”
AAP leader Herton Fernandes also criticised the so-called opposition unity: “During Diwali, three parties stood together and said they would unite to defeat the BJP. But what happened yesterday between Congress and Goa Forward proves that this alliance is weak, shaky and destined to collapse. Only AAP, with strong ground presence and dedicated workers, can take on the BJP’s powerful election machinery.”
Herton further said: “The way Vijai Sardesai spoke about the alliance yesterday shows he is not serious about defeating BJP. Congress and Goa Forward are more interested in bargaining for positions and benefits than working for Goa. This alliance is an alliance of opportunism — not an alliance for Goa’s future.”
AAP reiterated that the people of Goa deserve a credible, clean, and committed alternative — not parties that flip-flop, indulge in poaching, and crumble under pressure.
