Goa Khabar : Aam Aadmi Party Goa President Adv. Amit Palekar and General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab today slammed the Pramod Sawant–led BJP government, calling it the worst law & order breakdown in Goa’s history, and demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister.

Addressing the media, Amit Palekar said, Goa has never seen such a high rise in crime. This is a complete collapse of law & order.

Palekar listed multiple murders, shootings, robbery cases, violent attacks on activists and even custodial assault — all within just the last few weeks. He stated that there is no fear of law because criminals know they are protected by the ruling party. “Pramod Sawant is a failed CM who has failed . I challenge him for a debate — face me if you have even a dime of accountability towards Goans.

Palekar further said, They talk about double-engine government, but what they have actually doubled are criminals. This is a cocktail government — they collected criminals from all other over and poured them into BJP.”

Highlighting recent incidents:

In Benaulim, an AAP volunteer was attacked for stopping illegal sand dune destruction. The JCB used was released by police after interference from BJP leaders.

In Morjim, Umakant Khot, who opposed illegal hill cutting, was beaten to death.

In Panaji, activist Rama Kankonkar was assaulted for exposing illegalities.

In Navelim, Edberg Pereira, a young boy, was brutally assaulted inside a police station.

Palekar added:

“BJP shields criminals instead of arresting them — but files cases against activists and citizens who expose illegalities.”

Shrikrishna Parab said: “Every incident in Goa today is linked to people who are protected by the ruling party. Police act only when people protest — not when crimes happen.”

He added: “Goa Police has lost credibility. The protectors have become destroyers — and the CM is busy doing events while the public suffers.”
