Major traffic restrictions announced for IRONMAN 70.3 Goa 2025 on November 9

Goa Khabar : The Goa Traffic Police has issued an extensive traffic advisory for IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, India 2025, scheduled on Sunday, 9th November 2025, from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Several key roads in Panaji, Miramar, Dona Paula, Ribandar, Merces, and Cortalim will remain closed or partially restricted to ensure the safe conduct of the race. Motorists have been urged to plan travel in advance and strictly follow diversions and police instructions.

Race-Day Road Closures

Authorities confirmed that the entire race route will remain closed for vehicular traffic from 3:00 AM till race completion. Key closures include:

Ribandar Causeway (Ribandar Patti to Divja Circle)

Riverside lane (RHS) of DB Marg between Divja Circle and Miramar

Miramar Beachside lane (RHS) – Dr. Jack Sequeira Road to NIO Circle

RHS lane from NIO Circle to Raj Bhavan Gate

Left-hand side (LHS) of NH66 from Divja to Merces, and from Merces to the New Zuari Bridge (Verna side), reserved exclusively for participants

Two-way traffic will be allowed only on the RHS lane of NH66 between KTC Circle and the New Zuari Bridge.

Cortalim & New Flyover Restrictions

As per the latest notification:

1. One lane of NH66 at Cortalim Flyover (Panaji → Margao) will remain closed from 3:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The opposite lane (Margao → Panaji) will remain open.

2. Vehicle Diversions:

Panaji → Margao traffic will use the Cortalim Flyover and proceed via Kesarval Junction.

Margao → Panaji traffic will be diverted through Sharayu Toyota → Santrant Slope → Cortalim Cross → Cortalim Circle → Up Ramp.

3. Heavy Vehicles:

Heavy vehicles (except essential goods) and route buses from Titan Junction, Verna toward Verna–Borim will be diverted for the duration of the event.

Alternate Routes for Local Residents

A dedicated car lane will function for residents along DB Marg from Miramar Residency Gate to Marriott lane.

Vehicles may enter through Marriott lane, exit at the Starbucks junction, and continue via La Campala internal roads.

Two-Way Traffic Arrangements

Two-way movement will be permitted on:

LHS lane from Seniors Park to NIO Circle

DB Marg up to Miramar, with exit options via Dhempe College Road or Adarsh Circle

Major Diversions

Old Goa–Ribandar → Panaji: via Chimbel → Merces → Atal Setu

Panaji → Ribandar: via KTC Circle → Mala → St. Cruz → Merces

Caranzalem → Panaji: through Tonca → Caculo Mall → St. Inez → 18th June Road

Merces–Bambolim–Agassaim–Margao: via Old Siridao Road → Goa Velha → Old Pilar → Agassaim Y-junction

Airport/Margao-bound vehicles: through the barricaded LHS lane on the New Zuari Bridge

Old Goa/Merces traffic to Panaji/Porvorim: via Atal Setu Up Ramp before Merces Circle

IRONKIDS Event – November 8

On Saturday, 8th November, the RHS beachside lane from Miramar Circle to Vivanta Miramar and the LHS lane up to the Science Centre will be closed from 3:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Two-way traffic will be allowed between the Science Centre and Dona Paula Circle.

General Instructions

No parking or stopping will be allowed on the race route or diversion roads.

Emergency vehicles will receive uninterrupted movement.

Route buses will operate on diverted paths.

Public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas.

The Goa Traffic Police has appealed for public cooperation to ensure the smooth execution of the international sporting event.
