United Ucassaim Sports and Cultural Club were crowned Bardez Zone champions in the GFA third division league
Goa Khabar : United Ucassaim Sports and Cultural Club were crowned Bardez Zone champions in the GFA Third Division League after a 2-0 win over Goa United SA at the Poriat ground. The victory saw Ucassaim finish top of the group while Goa United ended as runners-up, with both sides earning promotion to the GFA Second Division League.
Ucassaim made a strong start and took the lead in the ninth minute when Noel Dsilva whipped in a cross from the right flank that found Pradeep Bind. The forward controlled well and fired home to put his side ahead. The hosts continued to dominate and doubled their advantage just before halftime. Aryan Salunke’s corner from the left was met by Pradeep at the near post who nodded it past the keeper to complete his brace.
Goa United came out fighting in the second half, pushing numbers forward in search of a goal but Ucassaim’s backline held firm. The defence stayed organised and absorbed the pressure to preserve their clean sheet and secure a convincing 2-0 win to seal the Bardez Zone title.
