Goa Tourism issues stop work notice to M/s Goan Hotels & Realty Pvt. Ltd. over construction activity at Bambolim

Goa Khabar : The Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, has issued a Stop Work Notice to M/s Goan Hotels & Realty Pvt. Ltd. in connection with alleged construction of illegal retaining wall and beach area viz a viz abutting areas at Bambolim. The action follows site inspections conducted by officials of the Department and reports received regarding the said work.

M/s Goan Hotels & Realty Pvt. Ltd are directed to Stop the Work of Construction of the alleged retaining wall at Bambolim beach immediately and maintain Status Que until further direction from the Department of Tourism. They are also further directed to Show Cause as to why action shall not be initiated against them for constructing the alleged retaining wall in the beach area and term it as Nuisance under provisions as contained in The Goa Tourists Places Protection and Maintenance Act, 2001.

The Department reiterates that all tourism and related developmental activities within the State must comply with the Goa Tourist Places Protection and Maintenance Act, 2001, and other relevant regulations. The Department of Tourism remains committed to protecting Goa’s natural assets and ensuring responsible development in all tourism zones.
