Goa Customs Commissionerate and DGTS hold interactive session with stakeholders to strengthen facilitation and public confidence

Goa Khabar : Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS) and Goa Customs Commissionerate organized an interactive session with key stakeholders of the Goa Air Cargo Complex at the Conference Hall, AAI, Dabolim Airport, Goa on October 10th.

The session, led by J.G. Patil, Joint Director, DGTS, was part of Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs’ (CBIC) ongoing outreach initiative to promote transparency, engagement, and trust between Customs and its trade and travel partners.

In his address, J.G. Patil reaffirmed the department’s commitment to seamless facilitation for passengers and trade. He highlighted initiatives such as Turant Customs, Faceless Assessment, and SWIFT, which simplify procedures, reduce dwell time, and promote technology-driven service delivery.

The interaction was aimed at enhancing communication with trade and passenger stakeholders and provided a platform to share feedback on baggage clearance and facilitation at Mopa and Dabolim airports.

Representatives from major airlines such as Qatar Airways, Aeroflot, Air Arabia, Air India, Indigo, Gulf Air, along with GMR Group, Bird Flight Services, Air India Express, AAI, Duty Free Operators, and Custom House Agents participated at the event.

Participants appreciated the initiative and requested more such sessions. DGTS assured that stakeholder feedback would be carefully examined and integrated into ongoing reforms where feasible.

Shri Khanvilkar, Assistant Commissioner, Goa Customs, thanked all participants for their valuable feedback and urged continuous collaboration to improve processes and public communication.
