Calangute Cruise Past Cortalim Villagers
Calangute struck early in the 13th minute when Kundaikar was set up by Arun Naik following an intercepted pass and slotted home the opener. Two minutes later, Kundaikar’s free-kick rattled the post, narrowly missing a second.
Cortalim had chances of their own, with Pushkar Prabhu creating opportunities for Jaison Vaz, but the striker could not convert, and goalkeeper Aditya Sharma made key saves to keep the sheet clean.The second half saw Calangute assert further control. In the 53rd minute, Sharma’s precise long ball released Arun Naik, who calmly chipped over the keeper. Carneiro wrapped up the scoring in the 73rd minute, converting Mehboob Hublikar’s corner via the post.
The match saw a few yellow cards, but Cortalim failed to mount a threat. Calangute’s clinical finishing and organized defense made the difference in a convincing win.
