Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress and the BJP stating that the recent Delhi elections were not free and fair, but were fought only to defeat AAP through a secret understanding between BJP and Congress.

Addressing media at AAP’s Panaji office, National Spokesperson Valmiki Naik said, “This was not an election, this was a conspiracy. The real vote chori happened in Delhi, where BJP worked hand in glove with Congress leaders to defeat AAP.”

Naik asserted that despite AAP’s strong 10-year governance in Delhi, the party was brought down by the “conspiracy of BJP and Congress.” He said, “It was not AAP’s failure. It was the goal of BJP and Congress to ensure AAP’s defeat.”

During the press conference, AAP also presented a video exposing the BJP–Congress alliance, in which Congress leader Devendra Yadav himself admitted that the party contested the Delhi elections with the objective of defeating AAP.

Naik further stated that Congress was heavily funded by BJP during the Delhi elections with the sole aim of defeating AAP. He pointed out that, according to Congress’s own submission to the Election Commission, the party received ₹44.20 crore in cash donations within just 30–45 days from the announcement of elections until their completion. “When opinion polls had already predicted zero seats for Congress, who gave them such massive funds? Why were there no raids on them? How did they manage to collect such a huge amount in cash? Why are their leaders never questioned or jailed? The answer is obvious, BJP bankrolled Congress to bring down AAP,” Naik said.

Naik added that in the run-up to the elections, AAP’s top leaders were relentlessly targeted, questioned, raided, and even jailed without evidence. In contrast, no such action was ever taken against Congress. “Why this difference? Because Congress was hand in glove with BJP to pull AAP down. This entire episode was a joint conspiracy of both parties.

He further said that Congress’s celebrations despite getting zero seats confirmed the collusion. “Congress openly celebrated AAP’s defeat. During the last Delhi elections Congress got zero seats. Even in the recent elections they got zero seats. Their own leader Devendra Yadav admitted this time ‘zero seats meant something different.’ That ‘something different’ was Congress helping BJP win.”

On the issue of alliances in Goa, AAP Working President Gerson Gomes strongly criticized South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes for claiming that local AAP leaders wanted an alliance, while only the national leadership opposed it. Gomes called this statement completely false and clarified that AAP’s decisions are taken collectively. He firmly stated that both local and national leaders are united in their stand: there will be no alliance with Congress, because Congress has repeatedly backstabbed AAP in the past.

Gomes reminded that AAP had extended full support to Congress during multiple elections, including the MP polls, the Panaji by-election, and the CCP elections. He pointed out that AAP MLAs from Velim and Benaulim played a crucial role in ensuring Viriato Fernandes’s victory, yet Viriato never acknowledged their contribution. Instead, every time AAP supported Congress, it was betrayed.

Questioning Congress’s credibility, Gomes asked how the party would convince Goans that it would not backstab them again. He said that Congress leaders have made it a ritual to defect to the BJP after elections, betraying the people’s mandate. “Why should Goans trust Congress when their history shows that their leaders routinely abandon the party and join BJP after every election?” Gomes asked.
