Goa Khabar : Forty-six Goan students keen on pursuing a career in hospitality, gastronomy, bakers & butchers, carpentry and healthcare will now get an opportunity to apprentice via an exciting three-year apprenticeship programme in Germany, while earning a stipend.
Typically lasting two to three and a half years, depending on the profession, this train-and-earn programme put together by the German Ausbildung Programme and the Margao-based Kamaxi Overseas Consultants (KOC), provides trainees with practical skills gained through on-the-job training at a company or organisation, while also attending classes at Berufsschule, a part-time vocational school in Germany.
The apprenticeship programme is a collaboration between industry and education that provides the students with hands-on training and classroom learning. Opportunities are available in hospitality, healthcare (nursing, elderly care), gastronomy, bakers & butchers and carpentry. Participants receive a monthly stipend, typically ranging from €850 to €1,200, depending on the industry and employer.
“For Indian youth, the Ausbildung Programme is not just a career pathway, but a life-changing experience. It transforms aspiring professionals into confident global citizens, equipped with skills, discipline, and the ability to thrive in diverse work cultures. At the Kamaxi Group, we are proud to be catalysts in this journey of empowerment,” according to Kamaxi Group’s founder Parixit Pai Fondekar.
KOC provides only offline German-language sessions at their campus in Goa prior to the interns’ departure, as well as assistance with the visa and accommodation once in Germany. Anyone who has completed their 12th grade, holds a B1-level proficiency in German and is interested in pursuing vocational training can apply.
Having completed the apprenticeship, students receive a certificate from the German government acknowledging them as skilled workers in the entirety of Europe. Students can even apply for permanent residency in Germany after two additional years of working. The programme is governed by federal laws and industry standards, ensuring that apprentices receive a well-rounded education and an officially recognised certification in their field.
Candidates who wish to apply to the German Ausbildung Programme can register on the website www.kamaxi.com and upload their updated resumes, ensuring all relevant qualifications and experiences are included.
