Goa Khabar : The Aam Aadmi Party’s hard-hitting campaign #BJPCheBurak entered its fourth day on Wednesday, with AAP leaders exposing the pathetic state of roads in Calangute, Mandrem and St. Cruz. The AAP stated that the BJP’s “double engine sarkar” has only doubled the suffering of Goans.

While speaking about the pathetic road stretch at Calangute, AAP Vice President Chetan Kamat tore into the BJP for betraying the people of Goa.“Most of today’s BJP leaders are imported from Congress. They switched sides in the name of development, but where is that development? Goans only got pothole-ridden roads everywhere. Calangute is a global tourist hub, yet its roads are in tatters”.

Also present at the protest in Calangute were AAP leaders John Fernandes, Carol Fernandes and Arvind Tendulkar.

In Mandrem, AAP General Secretary (Organisation) Shrikrishna Parab pointed out that such deteriorated roads will eventually take a toll on Goa’s tourism economy. What is the BJP government trying to promote craters on the moon? There is a school near this road, what if some students are harmed because of its dangerous condition? We urge the government to address this issue before Chaturthi.

AAP Vice President Sunil Singnapurkar pointed out that crores of rupees have already been spent on road repairs, yet the condition remains pathetic. He demanded that further repair of the damaged stretch must be undertaken under the same tender instead of wasting more public money through fresh contracts. “We demand that this road be completely repaired before Chaturthi, so that people can travel safely during the festive season,” he added.

Also present at the protest in Mandrem were Adv. Prasad Shahpurkar, Suvarna Harmalkar, and AAP Youth Vice President Salman Khan.

Highlighting the dangerous stretch at Chimbel, an AAP leader, Sarfaraz Ankalgi, said, “This road is a death trap. Accidents are happening, lives are at risk, yet the BJP government chooses to distract people with irrelevant issues instead of fixing basic infrastructure. Unless citizens shout and cry out, BJP leaders don’t move an inch. This is the true BJP model.”

The party leaders vowed to continue their #BJPCheBurak campaign across every constituency until Goans get safe, motorable roads.
