Goa Khabar : A delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa leaders, led by Benaulim MLA Capt. Venzy Viegas, today submitted a detailed memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, South Goa, expressing grave concern over the alarming rise in gang wars and criminal activities in South Goa. The memorandum follows the shocking gang war in Margao that erupted in broad daylight, leaving residents shaken and fearful for their safety.

The delegation, speaking on behalf of the people of South Goa, urged immediate action to strengthen law and order in the state. Key demands included increased police patrolling in vulnerable areas, intelligence-led preventive policing, swift investigation into recent violent incidents, and the launch of community-based trust-building measures.

Capt. Venzy Viegas also proposed the installation of CCTV cameras across South Goa, announcing his readiness to utilise his MLA fund to implement the project in collaboration with the police.

Curtorim AAP Leader Engr. Roque Virgilio Mascarenhas emphasised that CCTV coverage should not be restricted to coastal belts alone, but must also extend to the interiors of the Curtorim Constituency to ensure all areas are protected.

AAP Working President Gerson Gomes highlighted a recent incident in which he was attacked by thieves in Durga, Chinchinim, underscoring the need for round-the-clock police surveillance.

The delegation also included senior party leaders Prashant Naik and Mahesh Toraskar, among others. AAP Goa reiterated its commitment to standing with the people of the state in demanding stronger, more effective policing and the urgent restoration of public safety.
