Goa Khabar: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, during Zero hour, raised issue of noise pollution in coastal belt and particularly in Vagator, Baga, Calangute with loud music from hotels, restaurants and clubs till mid-night and post-midnight at some locations. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant assured house to take action.
Alemao said that the people are frustrated by filing complaints after complaints every day. This is open defiance to the directives of the High Court and the regulations of the GSPCB.
Alemao said that residents allege blatant defiance of court orders as clubs and shacks continue blasting music past curfew hours. “There are places that are openly advertising parties beginning at 10 pm when the Supreme Court of India orders are clear that no music can be played in any non-soundproof place after 10pm,” he said.
He demanded strict instructions to the police for enforcement and go for enhanced action.
Assuring the House, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that he will instruct the officials to take the action.
