Goa Khabar : A three-day Multimedia Exhibition on the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2025 (IDY), organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Goa, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, was inaugurated at the District Collectorate, South Goa, Madgaon, today, Thursday, 19th June, 2025.
The exhibition, being organized in collaboration with the District Collectorate, was inaugurated by Ms Egna Cleetus, IAS, District Collector, South Goa, in the presence of Tikam Singh Verma, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Goa.
Addressing the gathering, Ms Egna Cleetus, IAS, lauded the efforts of CBC Goa and the District Administration in organizing the informative exhibition. She highlighted Yoga as a unifying force for holistic health, environmental harmony, and inner peace. “Those who are involved in stressful jobs should find some time to practice yoga every day. You make it a habit and that will gradually help you keep up the life-work balance,” she said.
Tikam Singh Verma IPS, in his address, emphasized the significance of Yoga in fostering mental and physical well-being among citizens. He called upon the public to study the benefits of yoga and adopt it in the day today life.
The gathering also took a collective “Yoga for Health and Environment” pledge, symbolizing commitment to a healthier and greener lifestyle.
Riyas Babu, Publicity Officer, CBC Goa, welcomed the gathering while Shubham Gudadhe, Field Publicity Assistant delivered the vote of thanks.
The exhibition features various informative panels, audio-visual components and various interactive contents promoting the importance of yoga in daily life, aligning with this year’s theme of the IDY – “Yoga for Health and Environment.”
The exhibition will be open to the public at the Ground Floor, District Headquarters, Madgaon, from 09.30 AM to 06.00 PM till 21st June, encouraging citizens to explore the benefits of yoga through interactive displays and activities. The initiative is part of the wider national celebrations for the International Day of Yoga 2025, aiming to spread awareness about the transformative power of Yoga.
