South Goa MP Capt. Viriato Fernandes visits Santa Cruz Panchayat

Goa Khabar : The South Goa MP Captain Viriato Fernandes accompanied by Nilesh Richard Gomes, North Goa District Vice President and Santa Cruz Block President John Nazareth visited the Santa Cruz Village Panchayat office today. 

During the visit Sarpanch Jennifer De Oliveira, Dy Sarpanch Sandeep Sawant, Panch Members Manguesh Gaunco, Elson Braganca, Lafira De Oliveira, Perpetua Dsouza, Peter De Araujo, Amabelle gomes were present. Shiny Oliveira, Santa Cruz ZP member and former Santa Cruz MLA Victor Gonsalves were also present on the occasion.

During the visit various villagers discussed their grievances like the location of the MRF plant in a residential area and requested to shift the same to any other location.

Various other issues like construction of Panchayat Ghar, landslide at Alto Santa Cruz during last monsoon and the requirement of retaining wall, need for lifting of garbage from MRF plant daily, entry of saline water in fields due to breech of bandh, drainage problems, cutting of trees which pose risk to houses and human life were some of the major issues discussed during the meeting.

Capt Viriato Fernandes listened to all the grievances and advised various solutions. He also advised the Sarpanch Smt. Jennifer Oliveira to solve the issues which can be solved at Panchayat level. He also advised the Block President John Nazareth to remain connected with the people as they had elected a Congress Party candidate during the last election. He also criticised the MLA Rodolf Fernandes for detecting to the BJP without naming him.
