Goa Khabar : Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) MLA Viresh Borkar laid the foundation stone on Thursday for the construction of a retaining wall near Allan Noronha’s house in Neura, which falls under the St. Andre constituency.
The project, undertaken by the **Rural Development Agency (RDA)**, aims to address long-standing issues related to water management and infrastructure stability in the area. Once completed, the retaining wall is expected to **reduce flooding risks, prevent soil erosion, and improve safety** for nearby residents.
Speaking at the event, **MLA Borkar** stressed the importance of strengthening rural infrastructure and promoting sustainable development in villages like Neura. *“This is not just a wall—it’s a step toward safeguarding our people and building resilient rural communities,”* he said.
Local residents welcomed the initiative, citing the **urgent need for such infrastructure upgrades** amid changing weather patterns and increasing urbanization pressures.
The project is expected to be completed **within the next few months** and is anticipated to provide long-term benefits to Neura and surrounding areas.
