A celebration of Goa’s iconic cashew heritage, culture & innovation
Goa Khabar : The much-anticipated Goa Cashew Fest 2025 – Season 3 is back, and it promises to be bigger, bolder, and more immersive than ever before. This unique festival is a celebration of Goa’s rich cashew legacy and its vibrant cultural fabric, organised by the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC) under the visionary leadership of Smt. Dr. Deviya Rane, Hon’ble Chairperson of GFDC. The festival will take place over three days – April 25th, 26th, and 27th – at D.B. Grounds, Campal, Panaji, and entry is free.
Now firmly established as one of Goa’s signature state festivals, Goa Cashew Fest is more than just an event—it is a tribute to the farmers, artisans, self-help groups, and communities that keep the state’s age-old traditions alive. Rooted in the theme “Explore. Empower. Enrich.”, the festival goes beyond entertainment to celebrate sustainability, skill, and local entrepreneurship. From showcasing the journey of the cashew from farm to factory, to spotlighting its many byproducts and uses, the event offers a multi-layered experience for visitors of all ages.
The festival will feature 50+ food and beverage stalls, offering an irresistible spread of cashew-inspired delicacies, Goan culinary favourites, and artisanal creations. Whether you’re a cashew aficionado or a curious explorer of culture, the festival has something to delight every palate. Visitors can also explore live demonstration zones, witness the cashew feni distillation process, and learn about the economic impact of cashew cultivation on rural livelihoods.
One of the biggest crowd-pullers will be the power-packed entertainment line-up. On each evening of the festival, the stage will come alive with electrifying performances by some of India’s most celebrated music artists: Aastha Gill (April 25), Meet Bros (April 26), and Neeti Mohan (April 27). Complementing these headliners are top Goan bands—24K India, True Blue, and Double R—who will open each night with dynamic performances that celebrate the spirit of Goa.
Adding to the festivity are a fashion show, technical sessions, interactive workshops, and specially curated experience zones. Attendees can look forward to fun-filled activities including games, contests, spot prizes, and community competitions, ensuring there’s never a dull moment for families, children, and culture enthusiasts alike.
Speaking about the event, Dr. Deviya Rane, Chairperson of GFDC, said: “Goa Cashew Fest is more than just a festival—it’s a tribute to Goa’s deep-rooted cashew legacy. It reflects our deep commitment to the people of Goa—especially our farmers, artisans, and self-help groups—who are the true custodians of our heritage. This year’s theme, Explore. Empower. Enrich., encapsulates the spirit of the festival. Season 3 promises to be an affair extraordinaire, bringing together communities for a celebration of food, music, fashion, and cultural heritage.”
With an aim to foster local pride and global recognition, the Goa Cashew Fest is a platform to not just celebrate tradition, but also support innovation and entrepreneurship in the agri-sector. GFDC’s continued efforts through this festival aim to create sustainable economic opportunities, encourage eco-tourism, and showcase Goa as a vibrant, multi-dimensional destination.
