Goa Khabar : The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) Goa unit held a press conference today at its state party office in Panjim, expressing gratitude for the strong public support received in the wake of recent political interventions and highlighting its future course of action.

AITC Goa leaders reaffirmed their firm stance against the dilution of the ST Reservation Bill and the unchecked conversion of green zones into commercial hubs, calling such actions a betrayal of Goan interests. The party stated that its advocacy on these issues has struck a chord with citizens across the state.

“Our commitment is rooted in accountability and public interest. We will continue to be the voice of the people and hold those in power accountable,” said party representatives.

Major Organisational Restructuring Announced

In a bid to revamp and energize the party at the grassroots level, AITC Goa announced the dissolution of all existing committees and subcommittees. A new State Committee is expected to be unveiled later this year. The restructuring aims to ensure a more inclusive, transparent, and action-driven leadership.

To increase accessibility and public engagement, AITC also announced the opening of two new offices in different regions of Goa, in addition to its Panjim headquarters.

Focus on Parliamentary Advocacy

The party also laid out its agenda for the upcoming Monsoon Session of Parliament, with a sharp focus on Goa-centric issues, including the ST Reservation Bill and ongoing environmental concerns.

Opposition to Waqf Bill

Reiterating its opposition to the controversial Waqf Bill, AITC stated that the legislation undermines Articles 25 and 26 of the Indian Constitution. The party vowed to reverse the bill if brought to power, underscoring its commitment to upholding constitutional freedoms.

“The Waqf Bill is not just a religious issue—it’s a constitutional concern. We will continue to challenge it through all democratic and legal means,” the party asserted.

With renewed energy and structural changes, AITC Goa appears poised to deepen its outreach and strengthen its presence in the state ahead of the next legislative and parliamentary phases.
