Tvisha Downs Top Seed Tithee for U-18 Crown at the Bandodkar Panjim Gymkhana Tennis Open 2025

Goa Khabar : A day after clinching the girls u-14 title, Tvisha Sardesai pulled off a sensational upset to win the girls u-18 crown as well, edging out top seed Tithee Bhoomkar 4-2, 0-4, 10-8 in a pulsating final late on Friday. The young girl showed grit and composure beyond her years, bouncing back from a second-set drubbing to seal the win in a thrilling super tie-break.

On Friday, Tvisha defeated Bhaavya Bhoomkar 4-0, 4-2 in the girls u-14 finals. Shreyas Patil, meanwhile, lived up to his top billing in the boys u-18 category, defeating Kyan Mavany 4-2, 4-1 in a commanding final display.

In the ladies singles semifinals, Tithee Bhoomkar returned to court and battled past Poojal Naik 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 to earn a place in the final, where she will face Asuntha Fleming, who was ruthless in her 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Raisa Menezes.

The men’s singles semifinal saw Prince D’Silva outduel Punit Fadte 6-2, 3-6, 10-6 in a closely fought encounter while the masters 55+ singles final was just as tight, with Manoj Pandey coming through a gruelling 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 battle against Caetano Fernandes to take the title.

In ladies doubles action, Raisa Menezes and Poojal Naik cruised into the final with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Saanj Kunde and Avni Lotlikar. Raju Kundaikar and Santosh Gorawar also booked their spot in the men’s doubles final after seeing off Arup Angle and Sachin Dukle 6-2, 6-4.

All eyes will be on the finals on Sunday (April 13), as the tournament wraps up with Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant scheduled to attend the concluding event.
