Jharkhand hammer Goa 6-2 in Dream Sports Championship

Goa Khabar : Jharkhand hammered hosts Goa  6-2 to register an emphatic victory on the second day of the Dream Sports Championship football 2025 girls’ national finals being played in South Goa. 

Playing at the SAG Utorda ground, Jharkhand took a 4-2 lead in the first half. Rashmi Minz of Jharkhand struck the first goal one in the 14th minute,  before Neha Verlecar of Goa scored the equaliser in the 19th minute.

Jharkhand then netted two goals to go 3-1 up. Captain Alka Indwar scored in the  33rd minute, followed by Sanjna Oraon in the 39th minute. Anamika Sanga scored the fourth goal for the Jharkhhand team in extra time of the first half. The team continued their dominance in the second half after midfielder Shaulina Dang added another goal to stretch the lead in the 48th minute. Later, Sanga got her name again on the score sheet in the 67th minute as Jharkhand secured a comprehensive win over hosts Goa.

In the other morning match, Assam easily beat Karnataka 2-0 at the SAG Benaulim grounds. Assam scored both goals in the first half itself, courtesy of an early strike from Karina Narah in the 8th minute, followed by another one by Serbirika Terangpi in the 35th minute.
