Goa Khabar : The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has launched a scathing attack on the BJP and Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, accusing them of exploiting the revered concept of Ram Rajya for political mileage while failing to uphold its core values in governance.

In a strongly worded statement, GPCC Media Department Chairman Amarnath Panjikar said it is “deeply unfortunate and condemnable” that the BJP continues to use the sanctity of Lord Ram to push its political narratives, while the state reels under unemployment, rising crime, and alleged misgovernance.

“Ram Rajya symbolizes truth, justice, equality, and the welfare of all. Can the BJP government in Goa honestly claim to represent these ideals?” Panjikar questioned.

He further challenged CM Sawant to address critical issues facing the state:

  • Unemployment: Goa reportedly has the second highest unemployment rate in the country, with no clear roadmap for job creation.
  • Law and Order: Crimes such as robbery, rape, and corruption are allegedly increasing, raising questions about public safety.
  • Safety of Women and Children: The Congress questioned what steps have been taken to make public spaces safer.
  • Freedom of Expression: The opposition party raised concerns over suppression of dissent and fear among citizens to voice their opinions.

“The ground reality is a far cry from the divine vision of Ram Rajya,” Panjikar stated. “Instead of delivering good governance, the BJP has created an environment of rising inflation, authoritarianism, and corruption.”

The Congress warned that continued misuse of religious sentiments for political benefit insults both the ideals of Lord Ram and the intelligence of the Goan people.

“We demand the BJP immediately stop using religion in their dirty and selfish politics. Goans deserve real development, not hollow slogans,” Panjikar added.

The GPCC urged voters to see through what it called the “hypocrisy” of BJP’s statements and instead demand transparent governance, justice, and equal opportunities for all.
