Road closures and traffic restrictions on Sunday, February 23 for GOA Triathlon

Goa Khabar: The office of the district magistrate, North Goa has imposed the following road closures and traffic restrictions on Sunday, February 23 in Panaji city, in view of the Goa Triathlon being organised as part of the miniOrange AquaMoga sports event.

 

  1. The Beachside lane (LHS) of the stretch of Dr Jack De Sequeira road from NIO Circle to way to Campal Indoor Stadium (DB Road) shall be used exclusively for the race events and shall be closed for general vehicular traffic from 06.00 hrs to till the end of the race.
  2. The Right Hand Side Lane from NIO Circle to Campal Ganesh shall be used for Two Way Vehicular Movement
  3. Further, The Left Hand Side Lane of Dr E. Borges Road from NIO Circle to SSB Hospital Bambolim shall be exclusively used for the cycling event.
  4. Likewise the Right Hand Side Lane from NIO Circle to SSB Hospital Bambolim shall be used for two way vehicular Movements.
  5. The vehicles proceeding from Donapaula towards Panaji side shall be diverted at Aivao Junction to proceed further via Old Caranzalem Road Tonca La Campala Road exit onto DB Road at Starbucks Junction Campal and proceed further.
  6. In case of emergency vehicle such as Ambulance, Fire brigades etc, they shall be allowed to move unobstructed.
  7. As two way Traffic will be allowed to ply on the RHS lane of Dr E Borges Road from NIO Circle to SSB Hospital Bambolim and On RHS lane from NIO Circle to Campal, the organiser will partition the two way lane with cones and ensure proper informatory signboards are erected along the entire route informing the motorists about the two way traffic.
  8. The organiser shall make a Car lane available for the benefit of locals residing along the race route from Campal to NIO Circle and from NIO Circle to SSB Bambolim and allow crossing over of vehicles at strategic points by deploying volunteers.
